Our weekly listening assignment is available to listen as of two ways. Below are the weekly individual youtube videos. You may visit here to find out which video is next for that week. If you are interested in listening to all of them back to back, I have uploaded a studio youtube playlist for your ease and enjoyment (link below).
And, don't forget to mark them off on the listening chart when you get to studio for your lesson! =)

Parents, A few suggestions--
I encourage you to be creative in the ways you integrate listening to masterworks into a daily activity for your household. Listening to music does not always have to be "active Listening" (i.e. sitting down and paying attention undistracted to the music) although it is certainly encouraged. Listening can happen while eating dinner (it makes for great conversation!), while doing homework, freestyle dancing to the music, conducting to the music, while doing art projects, traveling in the car, cleaning the house, as you're going to sleep, etc. The educational advantage to listening to great masterworks is comparable to reading literature classics: by listening we expand our vocabulary and comprehension in a language our students are learning to speak on their instrument.
Be creative in how you can add music more to your day, but most importantly, enjoy!
The videos this school year will focus primarily on standard advanced string works in the classical repertoire as performed by some of our best musicians from across the globe. Soloists will include: violinists Ade Williams, Eileen Ivers, Nadja Solerno Sonnenberg, Regina Carter, cellists Mstislav Rostropovich and Jacqueline du Pre, David Oistrakh, Hilary Hahn, Christian Ferras, Arthur Grumiaux, Yesong Sophie Lee, Jascha Heifetz, and Pinchas Zukerman. The focal piece for the semester (Strauss' Don Quixote) will prepare us for our studio outing to hear the Memphis Symphony perform with cellist Zuill Bailey.
And, don't forget to mark them off on the listening chart when you get to studio for your lesson! =)
